European School Copenhagen is a public international school, offering a comprehensive multilingual education for nursery, primary and secondary students. The school has three language streams – Danish, English and French – and has been growing year on year since it opened in 2014.
In 2022/23, we will open another French nursery class (børnehaveklasse) and a DK/FR Secondary 1 class (6. klasse).
French nursery class
The language of instruction in the French nursery class is French and the students must be 5-6 years of age when they start and have mother tongue French (must be 5 on 1 October the year they start in nursery class).
Secondary 1 class
The aim was to open a French language section class but we don’t currently have enough French-speaking applicants to form a French language section class, so instead we plan to establish a Danish language section class with French L1/mother tongue students.
Applicants must be Danish mother tongue or bilingual Danish/French.
The Secondary 1 class will be FR class in 2020/21 will close on Friday 15th January 2020.
