Language 4 (L4)
Have you also binged a Spanish series or maybe had the latest reggaeton summer hit on repeat? After college you might consider studying abroad or going travelling? Regardless, learning Spanish opens your world, because speaking Spanish will enable you to immerse yourself in the rich cultural offering available across more than 20 Spanish-speaking countries.
In line with the school’s mission to enable a multilingual learning environment, at European School Copenhagen we offer Spanish as your fourth language (L4). This will be your third foreign language. By the end of S5, you should have attained Level A1 in the Common European Framework for Languages. It is therefore expected that you already have a basic level equivalent to Level A0+ when you start Upper Secondary (gymnasium).
Languages are at the heart of learning in the European School which is proud of its multicultural and multilingual environment. The language syllabuses make a significant contribution not only to the development of communicative competences, but also to social and civic competences and to the students’ cultural awareness and expression. You can choose to take a fourth language L4 in S5, and students who wish to continue with their third language in S6 and S7 will end up with a A2+ Level.
