Admissions
European School Copenhagen opened the Upper Secondary educational cycle (equivalent to Danish gymnasium) in August 2020. It is a tuition-free international gymnasium.
Applicants have the option of applying for Secondary 5 (equivalent to 1.g.) in either our Danish or English language section.
The language of the section is the primary language of instruction and the students’ first language (L1). In the Danish language section, however, the students also have the option of choosing French for their L1 classes (applicants will need to be bilingual Danish/French to choose L1 French).
As a European School, we offer a comprehensive multilingual curriculum with a combination of language, humanities and science subjects. Besides instruction in the language of the section (L1), some of the subjects are also taught in the student’s first foreign language (L2) and as a result, you achieve a high academic level in several languages.
Besides high academic standards, we also offer an exciting international learning environment with students from many different countries and great new facilities, centrally located in Carlsberg Byen in Copenhagen.
Students who successfully complete the so-called Bac years, Secondary 6 and Secondary 7, are awarded the European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma, which is an officially recognised entry qualification for higher education in all the EU countries and many other countries.
