Admissions Primary
European School Copenhagen is a tuition-free international school under the City of Copenhagen.
European School Copenhagen primarily admits pupils to the new nursery classes starting in August each year, but it is also possible to apply for admission in our Primary classes in the event that a space should become available.
The Primary education cycle consists of grades P1-P5 (equivalent to 1st and 5th grade in the Danish school system) and the pupils are between 6-11 years old. You can read more about Primary here.
The school currently offers P1-P5 in the English and Danish language sections and primary 1-4 in the French language section.
You can read more about the criteria for admission to Primary under the link Criteria and process. Please note that nursery class is a compulsory school year in Denmark and it is therefore not possible to enter Primary 1 unless the child has already attended nursery class or an equivalent class elsewhere.
You can apply for rolling admission all year, but applicants are only assessed in November and May if there are available spaces (except category A applicants).
