On Friday, September 15th, there was an official reception for the new Director of the European School Copenhagen, Julie Rørdam Thom. It was also a day that marked the separation of the school from Sankt Annæ Gymnasium that became official on August 1st, 2023.

The atmosphere was pleasant, with decorative flowers and refreshments for the invited guests, including the school’s teaching staff, other employees, the board, and partners from neighbouring gymnasiums, schools, European Environment Agency, and the Municipality of Copenhagen, among others.

Julie welcomed the guests at the reception, followed by speeches and a warm welcome from the Principal of Sankt Annæ Gymnasium, Anette Holst, and Kate Obeid, district manager in the Municipality of Copenhagen.

Julie expressed her gratitude for the speeches and shared her impressions and ambitions in her role as the head of European School Copenhagen. Julie Rørdam Thom assumed the position of Director of the European School Copenhagen on August 1, 2023, but she has been the Deputy Director since 2020.
