Drama

Drama

Do you sometimes want to be someone else? Do you want to try out what you can do with your voice? Do you like impressions and improv theater? Or do you just want something completely different than your usual lessons? Then drama is the course for you!

Drama is a supplementary course that can be chosen in S6 and S7.

Teaching

The course consists of three areas.

The first one is called “cultural and linguistic approach”. You will get to know different theater genres and their characteristics and learn to analyze excerpts from plays. This also means that you will learn how to create theatrical texts and scenes yourself. These self-created scenes will then be presented and performed, which brings us to the second area: Stagecraft. Here you will learn everything that has to do with the stage and acting; how to use your voice, body language, facial expressions, movement, positioning and even directing, all through practical exercises and performances. Ultimately, you will be giving each other feedback on these performances, bringing us to the third area, the “professional spectator”. To be able to give good feedback, you must know what a good play is. And how do you learn that? Well, by seeing plays! That’s why the course requires that you are willing to see plays in the evening, at least twice a year.

Exam

You will sit two B-tests a year during class time. A- and B-marks will be given based on the three parts described above.
