S5EN learnt about portraits through the ages

On Thursday 23rd June, our S5EN students went to SMK (the national gallery) with their history teachers Julie and Sophie where they had a guided tour by an art historian on the theme of portraits through the periods The Enlightenment, Rococo, Baroque, Autocracy, and Golden Age.

After the tour, the students created their own portraits depicting themselves with their family in a different / creative way.

It was a really fascinating and informative excursion, and the students showed a lot of curiosity and interest, so had a great time! What a fantastic way to finish the year 😊
