30th Anniversary of the Rights of the Child

30th Anniversary of the Rights of the Child

On 20th November 2019, our students marked the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child at an all-school assembly. The school’s Rights Council presented some of their work from the Unicef Children’s Summit last month and everyone sang the song: “Right to be loved”.  The children also learned about the Right of Freedom of Speech.

In October 2019, the European School Copenhagen embarked on the journey to becoming a Rettighedsskole (Rights School), which involves teaching the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and putting it into practice. Rettighedsskoler is a Unicef initiative and the goal is to develop happy, thriving and empowered children.
