Introduction to European School Copenhagen
European School Copenhagen is an accredited school under the internationally recognized system of European Schools. ESCPH provides a unique, multilingual education for 900 students from ages 5-6 to 18, welcoming them into the school’s Nursery class (Børnehaveklasse). Students graduate from the Upper Secondary with the European Baccalaureate diploma, which is equivalent to the Danish Studentereksamen.
Language Sections
We offer three language sections in each year level: Danish, French, and English. In these sections, students are taught most of their classes in their first language (L1) — the language of the section they attend.
- In Primary 1 (P1), students select their first foreign language (L2).
- In Secondary 1 (S1), they choose a second foreign language (L3).
- From Secondary 3 (S3) until the completion of Secondary 7 (S7), students are taught subjects such as Human Science, History, and Geography in their L2, enhancing their multilingual proficiency.
